After winning a Super Bowl in just his third year, Mahomes had tasted earlier success by even winning an MVP award in his second year and first year as the starting quarterback. The world was the oyster for the quarterback. However, after reaching back-to-back Super Bowl finals in 2020 and 2021, Mahomes came up against the ultimate competitor, Tom Brady. After winning his first ring, the young QB lost his first Super Bowl match in 2021. Now reflecting on tasting defeat at the grand stage, Mahomes said, “I’ve known how it feels to lose too, so I obviously want to get back.”

The Chiefs even failed to make the Super Bowl last year after bowing out to a relentless and ruthless Cincinnati Bengals team in the AFC championship game. Now having gone through more failures than he did in the first few years of his career, Mahomes is even more hungry for opportunities now.
