With the 2023 NFL draft set for April this year, a few prospects are showing their talent in the Combine. There has been some great interest in 21-year-old Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback Bryce Young. While playing college football, he certainly impressed a lot of the scouts regarding his ability with the ball. However, there is a great concern for some NFL teams regarding Young’s height.

Notably, Young is officially listed as 6’0; however, there is some confusion over his real height. He is getting a lot of questions from reporters regarding it. In reply, he sounded really mature, which certainly showed his true nature as a human being.

During a recent interview with the media, reporters asked Young about his actual height. In reply, Young said, I’ve been this size, respectfully, my whole life. I know who I am. I know what I can do. It’s fair; everyone can speculate and ask whatever questions are necessary. I’m going to control what I can control. I keep working my hardest to put myself in this position. I’m confident in myself.

Then a reporter asked Young about possibly getting drafted by the Chicago Bears in the first round. Then the young QB said, “I don’t know what’s gonna happen. Obviously, I don’t get to choose… I’m happy to be here honestly…

Notably, the Chicago Bears have the right to pick the no.1 overall in round one in the NFL Draft 2023. That’s why many are anticipating Young to go to the Bears. However, the question mark over Young’s height and build will be a big concern for the Bears as the Alabama QB was one of the most sacked quarterbacks in the league. Apart from the no.1 overall pick, the Bears also have 8 other picks in the Draft, which could help the Chicago team build a better squad for the future.

Kyler Murray faced a similar situation in the NFL

In 2019, the Cardinals drafted a young and talented prospect, Kyler Murray, in the first round. Notably, Murray was listed as 5’10’ and 207 pounds. As for Young, he has the same height but has a few extra pounds. As for Murray, he has been performing consistently through the last 4 years and his height did not affect him that much.

Meanwhile, Young had a terrific career as the main QB in Alabama. He threw over 8356 yards in two years, where he recorded 80 touchdowns and just 12 interceptions. With him leading the team, Alabama finished with a 23-4 win-loss record. Safe to say, his height did not stop him from achieving the massive feat for his college team. And it’s a matter of time before he finds his groove in the NFL in the new team.
