Washington Commanders star QB Carson Wentz is not worried about the remarks made by his head coach, Ron Rivera. However, the star QB also said he has been around the NFL for a while and has relevant experience. The 29-year-old star added he has a lot of respect for the 60-year-old coach.
“Coach Rivera, he’s awesome. I have a ton of respect for him. I’ve been playing in this league for a while from afar, but getting to play for him is even better,” Wentz said. The top QB’s straight admission about the coach has put an end to the reported drift between the duo. However, the star also subtly hinted not to take his contributions lightly with the experience remark. Earlier, the coach had indirectly blamed the QBs for their disappointing show in the new season.

Why Waltz faced flak from Rivera
In a presser when journalists asked why the NFC East Teams are doing better this season, the coach said it is because of the “quarterbacks”. This response hinted the team lacked enough fire in QBs. It also led to the argument that the coach is unimpressed with the star QB. However, Rivera brushed aside the view by saying they do not have any regret about the trade with Carson Wentz. The coach’s view that a QB is solely responsible for the team’s overall performance did not sit well with NFL fans and analysts.
Meanwhile, Wentz said his coach is a straightforward person, and he has been motivational so far. “I think guys love that about him and he’s going to be straight-up, very motivational and we respond to him very well. I have a lot of respect for him and am appreciative of what he’s done for me,” he added. The Commanders are now fourth in the NFC East division. They have a key challenge on October 23 as they face the Green Bay Packers, led by the experienced Aaron Rodgers.

In the six Thursday night games played, the star player has recorded 15 TDs, and 2 INTs, and covered 1443 yards. It is one of the best records by any QB. However, Carson Wentz must convert this one-day wonder show into a substantial contribution as the Commanders aim at a place in the playoffs.
