As the Dallas Cowboys pull off an upset victory over division rivals the New York Giants, Cowboys fans are in sheer jubilation. And among the many thousands, one stands apart for various reasons. Hall of Famer and former Cowboys wide receiver Michael Irvin went berserk on ESPN’s ‘First Take show’, sending his co-panelists Stephen A. Smith and Keyshawn Johnson into fits of laughter.

The Cowboys (1-1) came into the game with their main QB Dak Prescott still injured, but very much active on the sidelines. Facing a rampant Giants (2-0), the odds were definitely in favor of the Giants.
Enter Cooper Rush and CeeDee Lamb, the heroes of the night. Rush threw 21/31 for 215 yards and a touchdown. And the touchdown was scored by, you guessed it, CeeDee Lamb. A one-handed catch to score the most important touchdown of the game, in the 4th quarter.
Lamb did miss a few passes, including a 40-yard throw. But fans feel that he more than made up for the mistake with his incredible touchdown. And so does Irvin.
On the show, Irvin went on about the stellar defensive performance by the Cowboys. “What you’re lookin’ at on that defensive line is something finger-lickin’-good special.” The Hall of Famer adds, “I have been hurting because I have been having to tell the truth about how great Philadelphia looks. And they do look great. And I said there is no chance. But with that finger-lickin’ pass rush, we do got a chance, well get a chance to get to Philly, ’cause we got that finger-lickin’ pass rush, that is so good, and a pass rush can stop everything.”
It is encouraging for Dallas fans to see how good their defense was yesterday, sacking Giants’ QB Daniel Jones six times. And a performance like this, even when Prescott is out, could spell better fortunes for the Cowboys’ when he eventually returns.

Irvin had some more than kind words for the Cowboys’ wide receiver, Lamb, too. The former Dallas #88 has some stunning and hilarious descriptions about the number and its newest owner.

“Now, we should talk about CeeDee Lamb. Did you know that No. 8 stands for new beginning? That’s why the No. 88 is so special because God knows I’ve needed so many new beginnings. And 88s can take a new beginning.” Said the legend.
Lamb did have a good game if not an impressive one, bar the occasional drops. Finishing on 8/12 for 87 yards and scoring the most important touchdown of the game with a one-handed catch.
