“It’s Unfair”: Years Before Tom Brady’s Divorce, Gisele Bündchen Explained Why She Should Not Expect Everything in Life From Her Dear Partner

Gisele Bündchen received significant backlash from diehard NFL fans after her divorce from former Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers legend Tom Brady. Mainly for upping her expectations from a 45-year-old Brady who wanted a few more years on the gridiron. However, that wasn’t the case, as the divorce was more about Gisele herself than about Tom. The online accusations were far from true, as Bündchen had calibrated her expectations from the 7x Super Bowl champion a long time ago.

In fact, the Brazilian supermodel didn’t leave any scope for the accusations as she wrote about her relationship with her quarterback husband in detail in her 2018 memoir, ‘Lessons: My Path To A Meaningful Life’.

While Tom Brady was busy winning the rings, Gisele stayed back to nurture the children. “I think we can put too much pressure and responsibility on our marriages and partnerships. We expect our partners to be our lovers, our best friends, our advisers, our everything. This isn’t to say that in the course of any relationship, we don’t play those roles and that our partners don’t do the same for us. But why should one partner be responsible for the sum total of the other person’s experience? It’s unfair and limiting to both. After all, our lives are made up of so many relationships, and we learn different things from all of them,” Gisele wrote.

Gisele has incredibly stayed true to her words after her divorce from Brady. And that is evident in the present relationship between the parents of Benjamin and Vivian Lake.

Gisele still sees TB12 as a partner, just not a romantic one

Tom and Gisele ended things cordially in October 2022. However, the end of the 13-year relationship didn’t mean the end of their duties as parents. Gisele still sees Brady as an incredible father. And Tom has been spending some quality time with the kids after his second and final retirement this year. 42-year-old Bündchen even built her new Miami residence right across from Brady’s Miami bachelor pad. This is primarily to help the kids transition smoothly. Brady and Bündchen also share a joint custodial co-parenting plan from their divorce settlement.

Rumors about new partners emerge every other day for the still mesmerizing Bündchen. And she keeps squashing them like bugs, the latest one being a friend of her ex-husband. Her relationship with her martial arts instructor, Joaquim Valente, raised many eyebrows. However, with the lessons from her memoir in mind, fans won’t be too quick to draw any conclusions.
