Ciara Wilson understands the fashion world. At least that’s what her iconic looks make many believe. Just a couple of months back, the R&B sensation made fans lose their minds with her brave choice of outfit for the Vanity Fair Oscars. Accompanied by her husband, Denver Broncos QB1 Russell Wilson, Ciara’s see-through dress garnered mixed reactions as some admired her manner of expression, while others chose to pass crass comments. But being as relentless, Ciara has continued with her influence in the fashion world and is even taking it a step further.

Whether cargo pants or a high-flowing gown, Ciara’s clothing choices have always reflected her personality. The Grammy Winner is bringing along the same vibe to her clothing brand, taking on the role of a fashion designer. However, the goal isn’t just to provide a comfortable clothing experience, but to bring sustainability to the space, and Ciara has certainly found the perfect avenue to do so.

But what exactly is the impact? Well, Ciara’s venture ‘The House of LR&C Fashion’, is B-Corp certified, keeping in line with the strict standards for transparency and accountability in terms of social and environmental performance. The entire collection is based on organic cotton and recycled wool while preaching product longevity. Additionally, unlike other big-time brands, Ciara has been focusing immensely on unfair labor practices, waste, and reliance on toxic materials, and is working intensively to mitigate them to a-t.

The human side of the business

With sustainability at the core of their venture, Ciara has been adamant about making sure that her brand ensures a level of transparency with its consumers. The Grammy Winner has also found a way to tie the venture to the charitable trust, Why Not You Foundation, something she founded along with her husband Russell Wilson. Over 3% of all profits are directly donated to the foundation, aiding the fight against children’s health concerns, educational and poverty-stricken communities.
