Jackson is rumored to be on his way to New England to join the Patriots. Since they have Mac Jones, it is a curious scenario. A franchise legend has also weighed in on the matter.

On the latest edition of Up and Adams, Kay Adams hosted Rob Gronkowski as a guest. They chat about Mac Jones, the New England Patriots, Bill Belichick, and the chances of having Lamar Jackson in Massachusetts.

When Kay Adams asked if Lamar Jackson would thrive with Bill Belichick and the Pats, Gronkowski said, “I think he would be a good fit. But at the same time, I don’t think he would be a good fit. It kind of goes both ways, because he wants a quarterback.” Gronk added that the Pats always envisioned having an LJ-type quarterback, if not a pocket passer. However, the coaching god may not be willing to shell out $50+ Million. “It’s not a good fit right off the bat because of that reason,” the former NFL TE declared.

The Baltimore Ravens QB1 accounted he sought a trade from the franchise in March. Since their negotiations did not reach a result, other franchises, like the Patriots, could take the chance.

A Lamar Jackson-led New England Patriots would be a dream come true. Combining with a coaching god makes sense, and Jackson has the potential to win a Super Bowl. However, his financial goals are discouraging the Patriots from contacting him. It is possible that Belichick is not ready to spend big money on a quarterback. LJ also received advice on whether or not to join the franchise.

Lamar Jackson received negative responses over the Patriots

Lamar Jackson to the Patriots was a mega chatter. It prompted the franchise’s past and current athletes to keep their responses over the situation. However, the exchange looked more like banter, as Ex-NWE athlete Asante Samuel warned LJ with an anti-Belichick tweet.

Patriots’ Matthew Judon does not appear to be keeping back, either. While maintaining his assertion, he tweeted a message specifying that circumstances are different here. But Samuel showed no remorse when he called the athlete “a little brainwashed.
