DK Metcalf has the guts to achieve glory in two different arenas. The Seattle star receiver aspires to have the same goal as Tyreek Hill, he wants to represent the USA in the Olympics. And although Hill is argued by many to be the fastest man in the league, DK plans one step ahead of him to make the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics a reality.

During his recent interview with Taylor Rooks of Bleacher Report, the 24-year-old talked about how bad he wants it to happen. “I’m not just running just to run,” Metcalf told Taylor Rooks of Bleacher Report about his “legitimate” goal to make the big stage. “I can do that on a track somewhere. I’m trying to go to the Olympics.”

However, the receiver is recently not in the desired condition to start his training just yet. DK went through surgery in January to remove a score from his foot which was placed during a previous procedure. He played through his foot ailment all season long. DK wears an orthopedic boot in his left leg and is currently the reason for him to rest.

“I’m in a boot right now so I can’t do too much,” he said when asked about his process to train. “But, next year, I’m gonna start back training for it every offseason — training for the 100-meter, or the 60-meter, whichever one I decide to do. And then, in 2024, you’ll see me again.”

DK Metcalf aspires to qualify for 2024 Paris Olympics

“For sure, it’s gonna happen,” he added. But will the Seahawks be comfortable with his decision to enter a new domain of sports instead of resting in the offseason?

Although it will be exciting to see the young athlete make his way to a whole new arena, it won’t be that easy for him to make it through. “Bullet Bob” Hayes remains the only sprinter to ever convert his Gold medal athleticism in the Olympics (1964) to a Hall of Fame run in the NFL (1965-1974). However, when talking about DK, his path is just the opposite.

To make the Olympics after bullying cornerbacks in the NFL will be a tricky challenge for him. However, keeping in mind his freakish athletic abilities, he might surprise everyone during his national qualifiers. DK also gave a shot at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics qualifiers but failed to qualify. But he did surprise everyone after clocking an impressive 10:37s 100m dash against the elites.
