Cousins showed his incredible passing ability in that game, which helped the team secure a win over the Patriots. Despite his performance, NFL Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe shows a little concern over the Vikings’ defense and Cousins making a glaring mistake in the first quarter.

Shannon Sharpe warns Kirk Cousins and the Vikings

During the ‘UNDISPUTED’ show, Sharpe and Skip Bayless had a debate regarding the Vikings’ win over the Patriots. In that debate, Sharpe talked about the defense of the Vikings. Although they have a 9-2 record in the NFC division, their defense is ranked 31st, according to Sharpe. Moreover, they are the last in the league in terms of pass defense.

“It’s concerning because I believe all the teams that’s going to be in the playoffs can do what, they can move the ball. Dallas already did a number on you. Tampa can do a number on you,” Sharpe said.

Talking about Cousins, Sharpe said, Give Kirk (Cousins) credit, he threw a horrible interception… Had it wide open, he always shot it by four feet. It was a horrible interception. He had it wide open.”

Notably, Cousins made a horrible mistake in the first quarter, as he directly threw the ball to the Patriots‘ cornerback Jonathan Jones. However, he rectified his mistakes in the latter half, as he threw three touchdowns in the game, which eventually made the difference.

Can the Vikings get the no.1 seed in the NFC?

The Vikings are currently sitting at the top of the NFC North division with 9 wins and 2 losses. It is pretty certain that they will qualify for the playoffs, possibly as one of the number-one seeds in the NFC. However, it will be interesting to see if they get the overall number-one seed in the NFC.

As of now, the Eagles are currently the overall number-one seed in the Northern conference with 9 wins and 1 loss. If Philly wins all of their remaining games, they will undoubtedly finish as the number-one seed. However, the Vikings will be looking for an opportunity to pounce if the Eagles slip up near the end of the regular season. Apart from them, the Cowboys and the Giants are also on the hunt to get the number-one seed.
