QB Russell Wilson was once again dominating headlines by iterating his desire to stay and win Super Bowls in Seattle. The 2013 Super Bowl champion through his agent, Mark Rodgers, did release a stunning statement last year to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. His agent did reveal, on the record, that Wilson could waive his no-trade clause for the Raiders, Bears, Cowboys, or Saints. He did share Wilson’s desire to stay in Seattle but was unhappy with lacking more say on roster changes.

The relationship with coach Pete Carroll does come into focus following Wilson’s statements on Thursday. While reporting on this happening, Schefter also uses loose and unconventional ways to report facts. Wilson, on Thursday, did present his side by stating, “We’ve always thought I would be here. That’s been always my goal — to win multiple Super Bowls, and my plan is to be here and do that.”

The current 2021 season will mark only Seattle’s second non-double-digit wins season in their past 10 seasons. At age 33, Wilson only moves ever closer and at the mercy of father time, which is the bane of every sportsperson. The main worry for him would be the choices he makes in the coming months.

Is Russell Wilson nearing the end?
The 2021 season for the first time has shown NFL fans that there has been a decline in Russ’s performances. The reason for this could range from his durability to his time being out injured. The team did struggle to cope without him due to the finger injury, which he suffered in Week 5. The fact that they missed him for three games and weren’t any better when he returned signals need for change.

This version of Russell Wilson doesn’t move like the one who did when they won the Vince Lombardi. Interestingly, Wilson flopped in key moments during their Week 15 loss to the Rams, which sealed their fate for 2021. The coming months will surely bring lots of rumbles around the NFL and Seattle might just be the epicenter of it all.
