Josh Allen, the Buffalo Bills QB, had requested the fans to keep Damar Hamlin in their thoughts and prayers. Unfortunately, Damar suffered cardiac arrest during their Week 17 game against the Bengals. However, Josh’s compassionate request reminded us of the importance of supporting one another during difficult times. Though, after experiencing one of the most poignant moments in NFL history, the Bills bounced back with an equally intense win against the Patriots in their next game.
On this week’s episode of ‘Bussin with the Boys’, Allen got into the Bills season last year and its ride. Allen got emotional about the incident at that moment. It made fans wonder: what had made him feel that way? What happened in the backroom?

The sports world and Buffalo Bills fans took a sigh of relief when Damar Hamlin made “substantial” progress following his cardiac arrest during their game against the Bengals. The incident happened when Hamlin was tackled by Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins. Fortunately, Hamlin is now recovered and all set to play next season.
Though Joe Buck, the game’s play-by-play announcer, had described the incident as a nightmare.
In the latest Bussin’ with the Boys episode, Josh Allen recalled the scenes at a play emotionally choke up saying, “You never suspect that. What was going on? Shit that we were hearing from the training staff and the paramedics that were, you know, working on him, I mean, it’s just like, set in after about 45 seconds standing out there like what’s going on? Yeah, it was nuts. But an amazing effort by him and the staff, and I think that the community of Buffalo was fantastic. The NFL community came together momentarily and cheered for one purpose: the safety of Damar!”
Ice-Cold didn’t stop there though as he appreciated the Cincinnati Bengals saying, “It was a new spot to be in, so I don’t fault anybody,” as NFL discussed resuming the game. It was interesting to hear that he also appreciated the Bengals’ sportsmanship. “We were walking towards them when we saw Mixon, Burrow, and Byod walking in our direction. Before we could say anything, they told us they didn’t want to play either. That was pretty, pretty respectful thing to do, yeah…”
Talk about NFL spirit, right? It was an emotional day, and it won’t be wrong to say that more than teams, the respect each player has for the other makes this sport so remarkable.

Squashing conspiracy theories by its roots
Buffalo Bills’ Josh Allen was surprised when fans disregarded Hamlin after he recovered. It was after he was seen rooting for his team with Allen’s family and gave rise to the ‘Damar Hamlin body double’ conspiracy theory. Apparently, some people believed that the NFL had cloned Hamlin. And that the person seen waving during a game was actually a body double! However, Allen has vehemently dismissed these claims as “stupid.” He has confirmed that Hamlin was ‘indeed’ with the team both before and after their playoff loss to the Cincinnati Bengals in the Divisional round of the NFL Playoffs. It was time to put this crazy theory to rest!
When fans talked bizarre about Hamlin’s clothing, he took a shot by saying, “One, that’s Damar’s swag — he likes wearing that. Two, he was in the locker room with us pregame, so yes, that was Damar. That’s the Damar Hamlin. That’s our guy, our brother. He was with us pregame, postgame, he was up in the suite with his family, his little brother 100%.”
