Like every football game, someone or the other has a problem with the way a game is called. The Chiefs vs. Eagles Super Bowl is obviously no different. The battle between Mahomes and Hurts supposedly had some missed calls. There have been incidents in the past wherein fans have not been happy with the way a game is called. Particularly, this season has had more problems with referees and the review system. However, to seemingly clear up the confusion, PFWA reporters interviewed the head referee of the Super Bowl game regarding a controversial call.
The call in question involved the final play of the game. The call came on the final drive wherein a flag was thrown in the favor of the Chiefs. The referring decision had quite literally sealed the Eagles’ fate. After such a controversial call, the head coach made some clarifications. However, that has not stopped a lot of prominent stars as well as NFL fans from reacting to the call.

The game had winded down to a tie. The Chiefs had possession and it was obvious that they were looking to score a field goal to break the deadlock. The Eagles’ defense went on to stop Mahomes’ options for a throw and the QB’s pass that was headed for Juju was stopped. Philly fans were just beginning to rejoice as the zebras had thrown up a flag, calling holding by the Eagles cornerback, James Bradberry. This led to the Chiefs ultimately winning the Super Bowl. This call caught the attention of a lot of fans and even some prominent personalities. Furthermore, a reporter from PFWA cleared this up with the head referee for the Super Bowl game.

The referee went on to explain his reasoning behind the call that was made. He also made sure that it was indirectly understood that he made the best call from his viewpoint, allowing him some deniability.

However, the bitter truth for Philly fans is that the title of Super Bowl champion has slipped out of their reach. Their hope now remains to go through the trials of another season and make it to their fated stage next year.
