Many did not receive Tom Brady’s outburst against his offensive linemen well. In fact, a lot of fans consider his tantrum to be in poor taste, and unbecoming of a leader. A lot of fingers also point to his absence from the team’s Saturday meeting, choosing to instead attend a wedding. But now, one of the offensive linemen, center Robert Hainsey, has come forward with an opinion contrasting many.

Robert Hainsey is a converted center who is starting after Pro Bowler Ryan Jensen suffered from a knee injury. He was part of the linesmen who were on the receiving end of Brady’s tirade. Speaking on Wednesday, Hainsey shows only love for Brady, talking about the need for such reactions from someone he thinks as a leader.

“Everyone can call it what they want, but I want nothing else from a quarterback than that—than the guy who’s wanting to tell us what we need to do and step up. If he was just sitting over there and not get us going and not try to help us—he wouldn’t be who he is today.” Said Jensen. “I love that from him. I know we all love that from him. It might look weird on TV, but that’s football. That’s what you want from great teammates and great leaders, and he’s the best there is.”

He also talks about how playing with Brady is a learning experience, saying, “I love learning from him. He’s got so much knowledge of the game, so any time I can pick his brain and kind of figure out what he wants and how he sees things, it’s a really cool opportunity for me. I enjoy that a lot.”

Bucs’ Tom Brady explains his side of the story on the outburst at Pittsburgh

In his show ‘Let’s Go!’, Brady seeks to deliver a clarification on the temper tantrum at Pittsburgh. “That’s what my job is. To try to get us going and to try to rally us. And there’s a lot of ways to do it. And sometimes it’s some positive encouragement, which you do a lot. Sometimes it’s, you know, getting on people and trying to raise the level, the sense of urgency, and raising my voice and trying to create a different vibration for the whole offense. And that’s [ultimately] what you’re trying to do.”

Tom Brady and the Buccaneers are still reeling from the effects of their loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. And they will be looking to remedy their faults as they set to face a 1-5 Carolina Panthers. This game could prove decisive in the Bucs’ journey, as a loss here would, for all intents and purposes, discard them as a championship-contenting team. A win here may not mean much, but it will definitely be a testing ground to see what changes they need to make things better.
