Aaron Rodgers gets what he wants. After publicly airing his desire to join New York Jets, Aaron Rodgers has officially been traded. So far, the Jets have left no stone unturned to make Rodgers feel at home, poaching several of his former Green Bay Packers teammates. But then there are also the ones left behind. As many speculated, the Packers are feeling the heat of A-Rod moving away from the franchise, and his replacement is relentlessly trying to make sense of the chaos.
Back during his appearance on the Pat McAfee Show, Rodgers eluded to a move away from the franchise. He also spoke of his then-backup quarterback Jordan Love. With Rodgers’ departure, the Packers franchise has handed over the keys to Love, but still uncertainties are looming around the corner.
An honest confession

Aaron Rodgers believes that his back-to-back MVP seasons in 2020 and 2021 threw a wrench in the Packers’ handing over the mantle to Jordan Love. Despite the differences between A-Rod and the Green Bay front office, Rodgers appears to have made his peace with the wheel of time. Even Rodgers came in as a replacement for former Packers’ legend Brett Favre, and guess where Favre was traded to: the New York Jets.
However, Rodgers leaving has left the Green Bay Packers in a frenzy, as they also lost seasoned veterans in Randall Cobb, Allen Lazard, and quarterback Tim Boyle. Rodgers described these veterans as the ‘glue guys’ just months back, and the Jets got it done. While the New York Jets have gotten better over the offseason, the same cannot be said for the Packers as QB1 Jordan Love recently spoke on the aftermath.
“Yeah no, I think it is chaotic right now. It’s our second practice, everyone has a lot of energy out there, lot of juice, everyone is trying to make plays,” expressed Love.
Jordan Love iterated on the ‘competitive spirit’ of the team several times while sharing his views, and that appears to be the formula for success. With the revamped roster, the Green Bay Packers have a lot to prove, and hopefully, the players will continue elevating themselves to the level.
A new team without Aaron Rodgers
The Packers look nothing like they used to. With Aaron Rodgers shifting his allegiance, it is up to Jordan Love to shoulder the responsibility and the young QB1 seems ready for the task. However, Love is not enough to single-handedly carry the team, especially on the defensive end.

Even with Aaron Rodgers, the Packers displayed a lacking front on the defensive end, losing their ticket to the glory road time and gain. The same narrative carries into the 2023 season, and hence guys like Quay Walker and Devonte Wyatt need to make a name for themselves.
Speaking on the current roster, Packers GM Brian Gutekunst said, “We have some young players that are really coming into their own, They’re a good group of guys but there’s so much work to be done between now and in games. There’s definitely high expectations but we wouldn’t have it any other way.”

While the Packers have made some additions on the defensive end, the offensive game is equally questionable as Jordan Love is still an untested horse, especially in the playoffs. Filling in the shoes of Aaron Rodgers is a tall task, and even though Jordan Love is yet to prove himself, hopefully, the team will be there to support him, or so the Packers’ fans would hope.
