These days, NFL players often seek social media as a platform to announce their career updates. Especially, at times of retirement, interacting with the fans or conducting a press meeting is the most sought option. However, the former Buccaneers quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick decided to take an alternative solution by marking his presence on Adam Schefter’s podcast. Where he dropped some truth bombs regarding his decision to retire, favorite games, greatest quarterbacks, toughest opponents, and a lot more.

The 39-year-old veteran played for Nine teams in his entire tenure of 17 seasons in the NFL. According to Fitzpatrick, the motivation behind announcing an instant retirement came from the hip injury he suffered in the previous season.

The signal-caller was playing for the Washington Commanders. That’s when he suffered the injury. It showed him real instances of his future in the pro-football league and his post-retirement days.

“It gave me a glimpse into the future of what retirement would look like–and it drove my wife crazy – but I think it was a good preview of what was to come,” Fitzpatrick said on the Adam Schefter podcast. “I think it was something that it was time. And I’m ready for it.” He added to his statements. The former Bills QB also affirmed that he wishes to keep in touch with the game and spend his time surrounding the league.

This opens new ways for a possible coaching job; however, he refuses to accept one and wants to move ahead with a gig in the broadcasting industry.

While speaking in Adam Schefter’s Podcast, Fitzpatrick revealed that the Buffalo Bills have a special place in his heart. The crowd and the franchise made the QB feel like he was playing for his home. Similarly, the athlete said Fred Jackson is his favorite teammate of all time. When asked about the greatest quarterback of all time, he didn’t have a second thought. He said Peyton Manning was the greatest signal-caller. And Tom Brady is the greatest champion.

“I do. And I think Tom Brady’s the greatest champion, but I do think Peyton Manning’s the greatest quarterback ever. I think everything that he did was [done with] so much intent….” Fitzpatrick said in the podcast. The Arizona native reminisced about some of his greatest games.

His first game against the Rams was a 33-27 victory over the Houston Texans in 2005. Similarly, his 49-31 victory over the Bengals in 2010, and a 37-31 Jets win over the Bills in 2016 were some of his iconic matches. It will be interesting to see how things evolve for the quarterback in the days to come.`
