The Green Bay Packer (4-8) lost against the Philadelphia Eagles (10-1) in a 40-33 game. In the game, the lead QB, Aaron Rodgers, exited early because of a hard hit by the Eagles’ pass rush. The QB went into the game with an injured thumb already. Although Rodgers tried to power through it, the pain was unbearable. Does this mean fans saw the last of A-Rod this season?

Losing the star QB was devastating for the Packers. They had to rely on Jordon Love as his substitute who played well. He threw a touchdown pass to Christian Watson.

The reigning MVP-winner went for 140 yards, and Aaron Rodgers completed 11 of 16 passes before he succumbed to a rib injury. He also threw two touchdowns and two interceptions.

The Green Bay Packers will quite likely not allow the 38-year-old quarterback to play the rest of the season because he has had a fractured thumb and an injury to his oblique. The Packers’ chances of making the playoffs are also bleak as they slumped to 4-8.

Will the Packers let Aaron Rodgers stay out of the games?

The state of Rodgers’ thumb injury was not known. He injured it when he played against the New York Giants in Week 5. The confirmation came from him while talking to reporters in the Packers’ locker room. According to NFL Network, the injury is an avulsion fracture, which causes ligament tears free from the bone and travels with it. The injury made the QB throw several interceptions against the Eagles.

Then in the second quarter, the oblique injury finally made him leave the game. He did not wear his uniform when he appeared on the sideline. The QB was done for the night. From then on, he said that he won’t play again because of the unbearable pain.

Fifteen years ago, a young Rodgers replaced an injured Brett Favre. And now, ironically, Love will also replace a now-injured Rodgers. However, moving on from him won’t be as easy. But if the Super Bowl-winning QB retires, the team can restructure Love’s contract. All of that is still far-fetched since the team could let its QB heal from his injuries.

Additionally, Matt LaFleur and the QB appeared dubious about letting the 24-year-old start for the rest of the season. Therefore, it is yet to be seen how well the cards play out for the 10x Pro Bowler.
