The Madden 23 player rankings are now official. But the game developers kept the most expected positions for the conclusion to maintain the hype. The QB rankings have witnessed an evolution all these years. However, this year’s QB ratings are causing an explosion on social media, and not in a good way. The veterans have taken over the youngbloods in this year’s game, as Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers stand first and second, respectively.
The ratings went wrong?
Patrick Mahomes, who was in the 99’s Club last year, faces a drastic shift in his rating. As per Madden Ratings, the Kansas City Chiefs QB scores a 95 in Madden 23 ratings. It certainly looks like a slight setback for Mahomes, who was the poster boy alongside Tom Brady for the Madden 22 cover. Josh Allen and Joe Burrow followed the Chiefs QB to round off the top five in QB rankings for Madden 23.

According to KSHB.com, Patrick Mahomes expressed his displeasure with his Madden 23 ranking. He mentioned, “Obviously, I’m disappointed that I’m not 99. Everybody wants to be 99, but it’s a good rating. I’m going to try to work my way back up to 99 through my play on the field.”

Irrespective of the overall ratings this year, Mahomes’ speed is unavoidable. He also exclaimed how fast he was — 84. “I’m trying to get that speed to 90. I’m going to have a few more runs this year and try to get that speed to 90,” he concluded.
NFL fans rally over Patrick Mahomes’ Madden 23 rankings
Patrick Mahomes’ dip in rankings might have upset the QB, but it could also push him to work harder. However, the NFL universe on social media did not hold back their feelings about the rankings.
A user believes that Mahomes is no match for Brady, but another user feels otherwise.

A user lays out his analysis on why Tom Brady is number one.
Tons of mega famous athletes, especially in basketball. But none but Brady in American football.

Another user showcased his/her displeasure with Justin Herbert’s rating, but another user may know the reason.
IDK, I think Herbert's rating is fine, he's just on a mid team.

Moreover, a user chooses Mahomes and Allen over Tom and Aaron anytime on game rankings.
I'd love to hear an EA Sports spokesperson try to justify this nonsense. If Madden 23 is all about winning in the 2022 season, I'll take Mahomes AND Allen over Brady and Rodgers any day. If we're talking body of work, that's something else, but it disregards age deterioration.
