Head Coach Vic Fangio will be cursing his stars for the predicament that he finds himself in at the moment. The Denver Broncos boss is without all 3 of his quarterbacks.

The likes of Drew Locke, Brett Rypien, and Blake Bortles were already on the COVID-19/IR list after being deemed to be in close contact with infected individuals.

Only backup quarterback Jeff Driskel was eligible for selection heading into Week 12. However, the Broncos confirmed that even Driskel is out of contention due to the NFL’s contact tracing policy.

Who is Denver Broncos practice squad player-turned-quarterback Kendall Hinton?

The last time Kendall Hinton played as a quarterback was in 2015. Later today, he’ll step in and fill the void left in the wake of his teammates being stuck in the most peculiar of circumstances.

Here’s what NFL correspondent James Palmer had to say about the 23-year-old youngster who was on the Broncos practice squad until Saturday.

“I’m told that the Broncos sent all the information they had all the video of their quarterback room to the NFL on Friday then they found out yesterday afternoon during practice that all three of those quarterbacks are close contacts would not be able to play today.

“So it’s Kendall Hinton, their undrafted rookie wide receiver who’s a dual-threat quarterback at Wake Forest that’s going to get the start now I talked to teammates yesterday they told me they’ve never even seen him take a snap at quarterback in practice.

“The last extensive work he had a quarterback was in 2015. So I’m told late into last night he worked with offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur and quarterback coach Mike Shula on a game plan look for him to be used out in space, but they also have Royce Freeman their third-string running back as their emergency quarterback.

“He’s gonna be used more in a Wildcat RPO type of thing,” Palmer said ahead of today’s game.

The Broncos go up against a strong New Orleans Saints outfit featuring Taysom Hill as their starter. Coach Fangio’s team is 3rd in the AFC West Division with a 4-6 record. They are in dire need of a win.
