Patrick Mahomes might have set the new benchmark for NFL QBs but he will not even make the highest-paid list in a few years. Well, that is not good for the motivation of players who work hard. There are other QBs with lesser distinction than Mahomes that are set to earn more than him in the coming years.
Patrick Mahomes signed the biggest contract in the NFL after accepting a 10-year, $450 million extension with the Chiefs. But as the contract progresses he will be making less than players with one or zero Super Bowl wins under their belt. Knowing the names of players who are set to overtake Mahomes shortly will surprise many NFL fans. They have called out on Twitter, the actual reality surrounding the Mahomes’ contract.

The Chiefs got a “huge bargain”
The shine has come off the unprecedented contract that Patrick Mahomes signed with Kansas City. Accordingly, NFL fans clearly understand that the Chiefs have managed to secure the best QB in the NFL for a great bargain.
Surprisingly, Mahomes will be overtaken by Lamar Jackson, Jalen Hurts, Joe Burrow and Justin Herbert by this year. All these players are set to get their contracts renewed and none of them has won a Super Bowl. Quite a predicament for Mahomes.
Patrick Mahomes’ contract is beginning to look like a HUGE bargain:
He currently makes less money $ per year than: Aaron Rodgers, Kyler Murray, Deshaun Watson and Russell Wilson. Expect 3-4 more names to be above him this offseason too. A 10 yr deal was a genius move by KC pic.twitter.com/sPfINGhoib

Right now, the Chiefs’ QB takes home less than Aaron Rodgers, Kyler Murray, Deshaun Watson, and Russel Wison.
Is Patrick Mahomes acting in the best interest of the team?
After a well-bargained Mahomes deal, the Chiefs will be able to sit at the trading table more confidently. A 10-year deal means they are planning everything around Mahomes.
The team would be hoping to secure relevant players further to back up their QB. Not dumping a heavy contract on their star QB will place the Chiefs at a great advantage in the coming years.
Meanwhile, speculations suggest that the QBs contract might not remain the same and Twitter users agree.
No duh, a 10 year deal means he makes the same amount every year while every year the qb market goes up , if mahomes was smart he would want to renegotiate his contract halfway through so he can make what the others make cuz he deserves it

As long as he’s healthy and the cap keeps going up. Still risky.

Patrick has said he wants the team to always have enough cap space to get the players they need to win championships.

Quarterbacks are excellent leaders by the nature of the game. Similarly, successful QBs would want to milk their contract for the highest earning possible.

However, Mahomes must be looking forward to building a much stronger unit that is consistently Super Bowl bound. Besides, the financial outcome of his deal puts the Chiefs in a better position to bring in more dynamic players. It might just be the case that Mahomes is very attached to his team and does not mind the bargain.
