The talks of Julio Jones being traded have been doing the rounds for some time now. The wide receiver who is a seven-time Pro Bowler and two-time NFL All-Pro has been an invaluable asset to his side over the years.
But reports suggested that the Falcons were willing to listen to offers for their star wideout. There is yet to be any concrete development about a trade for Jones but all that could change given a recent statement he made on live television.
Appearing on Undisputed, the wide receiver was asked about his future going forward. And Jones had a simple answer to that question.

Julio Jones is done with the Atlanta Falcons
During a segment of the show, NFL Hall of Famer, Shannon Sharpe, asked Julio Jones about his future in Atlanta. Live on air, no one perhaps expected Jones to come up with such a direct answer.
“I’m out of there,” he said. Players in the past have rarely ever been this direct in addressing potential trade possibilities. But it seems that Julio Jones has clearly made up his mind.

A picture of Jones wearing a Dallas Cowboys sweatshirt recently went viral prompting Sharpe to ask whether the wideout was planning to move to Texas.
But Julio said that the Cowboys do no feature among the sides he’s looking to join. “I ain’t going to Dallas, I never thought of going to Dallas,” he said.
When asked further about where he wants to go, the wide receiver said he’d go anywhere that plans on winning.

The Falcons might be forced to ship out Jones due to their massive cap crisis. The side will have to part ways with $15.3 million as guaranteed salary if they wish to keep hold of the mercurial wideout.
Recently acquiring tight end Kyle Pitts through the 2021 NFL Draft, the side is looking at a potential rebuild under new Head Coach Arthur Smith.

Trading for Julio Jones will definitely get them some draft capital to navigate through the rebuild. But losing a player of Jones’ caliber might be a void too big to fill.
