NFL franchise Cleveland Browns QB Baker Mayfield was unhappy with certain sections of Cleveland media that promote fake news online. Mayfield took to Twitter to make the Cleveland faithful aware of a reporter who used his name to create headlines. The reporter in question is Mary Kay Cabot who is an analyst of Browns games at WKYC-TV.

He points out that the report states that Baker and coach Kevin Stefanski is nothing but ‘clickbait.’ Cabot has earlier made reports that Mayfield was upset with coach Stefanski’s play-calling during the 2021 season. Mayfield was visibly disappointed with such behavior by Cleveland’s news-hungry reporters after their tough 2021 season. He writes, “Don’t put words in my mouth so you can put food on your table. I’m not your puppet.”
Baker Mayfield is currently out for the season and waiting in the wings for imminent shoulder surgery. At a time when the player needs support and positive messages, Cleveland supporters and media have been far from being kind to Mayfield. The year has proved to be a tumultuous one for both the Browns franchise and QB Mayfield.
Clickbait. You and many other Cleveland local media continue to be drama stirring reporters with no sources or facts. Don’t put words in my mouth so you can put food on your table. I’m not your puppet. https://t.co/MfHnqWk65s

Baker Mayfield and his challenging 2021 campaign
The season hit the Browns’ QB like a brick wall with him picking up an injury in their Week 2 outing against the Texans. He reaggravated his injury during the Week 6 game against the Cardinals. Luckily, on both occasions, the Browns end up winning games. An up and down year where Mayfield was always under pressure to deliver, the injuries weren’t helping.

The player who had a great end to his 2020 season wasn’t the player who left it when it was Week 17 in 2021. Mayfield struggled to match passing numbers for the first half of the season falling almost to the bottom in each category. But saw an improvement during the second half of his season, completing 46.2 percent of his passes ranking seventh in the NFL.
The headline stat that was crucial in the Browns’ winning run during the last 8 games of 2020, tells the truth. Baker was one of the top QBs last season when the 2-minute warning was in play. He went from being the best passer rating of 91.9 to 64.5 rating during the 2021 campaign.
