This offseason is bringing a lot of changes to many teams. Franchises are hiring new coaches, trading players, and doing away with veterans in order to free up cap space. The team that is planning to trade its important player is the Los Angeles Rams. The Super Bowl LIII-winning team is getting rid of a star cornerback who was a crucial part of the game.

In order to deal with the salary cap crunch and rebuild the team, Los Angeles decided to move on from Jalen Ramsey. According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the Rams discussed and talked about trading their All-Pro cornerback. It is “very likely” that the team will trade the 28-year-old in the next few weeks as a salary cap-clearing move.

This news did not sit well with the fans. However, many fans wanted Ramsey to sign with the teams they liked.

Fans reacted to the big trade news that the Los Angeles Rams will move forward with

Following are the reactions from fans:

Ramsey played with the Rams for three and a half years. He earned four Pro Bowl nods, two first-team All-Pro selections, and a Super Bowl ring. Ramsey was acquired by the Rams at a high cost in 2019, first through a deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars that involved two first-round picks and a fourth-round pick. Then they granted him a record-breaking five-year, $105 million contract extension less than a year later.

It is the latter deal that is outing him from the team. Los Angeles is currently $14.9 million over the salary cap. The figure will come down to $5 million after LB Bobby Wagner is officially out of the team. Ramsey’s cap hit under his current contract is $25.2 million this year, $26.7 million in 2024, and $22.7 million in 2025. Once dead money is taken into account, trading him away will allegedly free up about $5.6 million in cap space for this year. Trading Ramsey and Wagner will not solve the problem. Hence, fans can expect more changes to the squad.
