Many uncertainties started brewing in the Seahawks camp when Russell Wilson was traded to the Denver Broncos. Many of their star players were projected to seek a trade away from the team. Primarily because of a sense of a rebuild around the organization. Unsurprisingly, the main talks were around their star wide receiver, DK Metcalf.

DK Metcalf was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks with the 64th overall pick from Ole Miss in the 2019 NFL Draft. Despite being a late draft pick, DK has transformed himself into one of the best wide receivers in the league.

Along with the departure of Russell Wilson from the Seahawks, there was another significant departure as well. The Seahawks lost a significant player from their defense. Bobby Wagner signed with the Los Angeles Rams and left the franchise where he played for ten years.

DK Metcalf appeared on the Club Shay Shay Podcast, a podcast hosted by Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe. During his conversation with Shannon, DK claims he is ready to face his former teammate in the upcoming season.

DK Metcalf is ready to face Bobby Wagner and the Rams

Bobby Wagner signed for the defending champions Los Angeles Rams. As a result, the former Seahawks player will face his old team twice every season since they are a part of the same division.

Shannon Sharpe asked DK, “How difficult or unique it will be to see Bobby Wagner twice a season in a Rams uniform?“. The WR replied, “He gotta see me, He gonna have to see me.” said Metcalf, “As soon as I get the ball, I’m gonna run straight into him the first play just to see how it feels to get tackled by B Wag.”

Shannon Sharpe was left surprised by DK’s answer, and the duo shared a laugh after that. Bobby Wagner is considered one of the best at his position. Unsurprisingly, DK wants to see how good his former teammate is.

With Seattle not replacing Russell Wilson with another quality quarterback yet, DK Metcalf’s task will get slightly more challenging next season. It will be interesting to see how he pairs up with Drew Lock or Geno Smith next season.
