Aaron Rodgers is on the road to equaling Brett Favre’s record of winning three consecutive MVP awards. Considering he wins it in the NFL 2022 season. However, his placement as the no.1 QB in the NFL executives’ list of top 10 QBs irks broadcasters Colin Cowherd and Nick Wright. Long-time Rodgers fan, Wright, cannot digest that the 38-year-old is placed ahead of Mahomes, Allen, and Brady.
On The Herd, Nick told Cowherd that he does not think Rodgers is better than Mahomes. Even though Wright is a Rodgers fan and has never talked low about the Packers’ QB, disregarding AR12’s abilities is still new for him.

Colin had some harsh words of criticism when discussing the list of top 10 QBs prepared by NFL executives. He remarks that after witnessing Rodgers in the last few playoff games; he is not the same player in uncomfortable situations. The journalist says, “I’ll take Mahomes, Allen, Brady, Burrow, Stafford all ahead of him with two minutes to go trailing in a game.”
Cowherd’s list also features Kyler Murray, but excluded from the executive’s list. Even Derek Carr couldn’t find a place on the list and got replaced by Dak Prescott. Moreover, Nick Wright judged Rodgers’ placement on the top in his fashion.
What does Nick Wright think of Aaron Rodgers being ahead of Mahomes and Brady on the list?
During the show, Wright said, “Obviously Mahomes shouldn’t be below Aaron but everyone you mentioned should also be ahead of him… There’s an element to that arguing that Aaron Rodgers is the best quarterback in football. Because I watched in 2020 him be far and away the best quarterback in the league.”

He added, “And then I watched Tom Brady play him in the playoffs and Aaron spit the bit right before the halftime and screw up the final meaningful drive of the game.” It is surprising for fans to see Wright disagreeing with the executives’ list since he is an ardent Rodgers fan and follower of his game.
But that’s the thing about sports. It can be a cruel affair. One day, you’re the best quarterback, the next, people are arguing about your screw-ups by disregarding what you’ve achieved in the sport. Aaron Rodgers indeed finds him in the latter spot.
