Before becoming the President of the United States in 2017, Donald Trump did not receive too much support from celebrities. However, in 2015, Trump claimed that he received support from Tom Brady and Kanye West, two high-profile celebrities.

At that time, Brady was playing for the New England Patriots and already won 4 Super Bowl titles. As for West, he has always been a popular hip-hop artist. During an interview, the former President of the USA referred to Brady and West as his friends.

Donald Trump talked about his friendship with Tom Brady and Kanye West

In an interview back in 2015, Trump said,Tom Brady is a very good friend of mine… He’s a great guy, for those of you who don’t know him. He’s an honorable guy and an honest guy and a truly great athlete. He is really a very good friend of mine and I just spoke to him a little while ago, he’s so thrilled and so happy.”

While speaking about his friendship with Kanye West, Trump said, I’ll never say bad about him, you know why? Because he loves Trump… He goes around saying, ‘Trump is my all-time hero,’ he goes around saying that to everybody, so Kanye West, I love him.

It is worth noting that West talked about running for President of the United States in 2020 during MTV’s Video Music Awards in 2015. Speaking about the prospect of going head-to-head against West in the future, Trump said, Maybe in a few years I’ll have to run against him, I don’t know, so I’ll take that back. He’s been so nice to me… I only hit people when they hit me. Only. And Kanye West has been so great.”

Brady took a dig at Trump in 2021

Previously, Brady also referred to Trump as a great friend and reportedly supported him during his precedential campaign. He once revealed that they used to play golf together pretty often. However, the friendship fell apart in 2017, when Trump slammed a few NFL players for kneeling during the National Anthem.

49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick was one of the very first NFL players who knelt during the national anthem, and Trump wanted the franchises to fire those players. However, Brady opposed Trump and since then, their friendship practically ended.

In 2021, the Current President of the USA, Joe Biden, called the whole Bucs team to the White House after winning the Super Bowl. Notably, Brady moved to the Bucs after leaving the Patriots in 2020. During a speech, he took a dig at Trump and said, “Not a lot of people, you know, think that we could have won. About 40% of the people still don’t think we won.”

The 7-time Super Bowl champion was referring to Trump’s false claims of voter fraud against President Biden. Although Trump lost his friendship with Brady, he still has a good friendship with West, as they often communicate with each other.
