Former San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh was appointed as New York Jets Head Coach earlier this year. The AFC East big boys ended their 2020 NFL campaign in a disappointing fashion.
Adam Gase was sacked after the Jets finished bottom of their division with a 2-14 record. Latest reports indicate that new coach Saleh wants to bring in wantaway Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson ahead of the upcoming 2021 season.
Watson, who signed a 4-year extension worth $177.5 million last year, also had a dismal season with the Texans in 2020. They finished 3rd in the AFC South with a 2-14 record.

The 6-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Brandon Marshall spent the 2015-16 NFL season with the New York Jets. He featured on the latest installment of The Jake Asman Show earlier this week.
Marshall went on to state that Watson must push for a move to New York if he wants to establish himself as one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play in the NFL.
He said, “It takes a special person to want to go to New York, and it takes a special person to fit into that New York market. I think he has that.
“Joe Namath was the last quarterback to win a Super Bowl there. So it’s not going to be easy, but you can do it with the right approach. If you win in New York, you’re a king around the world.

“The salary cap, we got around $68, $69 million available. Who do you want? He’s going to turn this thing around. And, we’ve been waiting for someone like him to lead the way,” Marshall said on the show.
Deshaun Watson ended last season as the passing yards leader (4,823). But the Jets know he will not come cheap and they will probably have to give up their 2nd overall pick in order to secure a trade deal with the Texans.
