The Philadelphia Eagles ended the dream 12-0 streak for the San Francisco 49ers last night at the Lincoln Financial Field in south Philly. And Niners placekicker Robbie Gould only had 1 point to his name in the 31-7 shutdown victory for the Birds as they clinched the NFC crown. However, that doesn’t deny the greatness of Gould.
Every team in the NFL knows the importance of having a consistent placekicker for the special teams. And former Bears and All Pro-Team and Pro Bowler Robbie Gould exemplifies the role better than most. And he has unique ways to tackle distractions when it’s time for the big moments.

Robbie Gould didn’t care about opponents suffering concussions
Sometimes, while warming up with some practice field goals before the kickoff, kickers face deliberate obstruction from the opposing teams through well-thought-out tactics. It can be a cheerleading group or the home team making their entry on the field. And Gould likes the challenge.
In fact, he may like it a bit too much, as he narrated an incident from last year from a game against the Los Angeles Rams when he hunted the opposition down. He confronted the Rams players blocking his path as a challenge and shot through them as they were warming up. Also, this helped his preparation for real in-game scenarios as well.

“I usually try to find a place where they are. The only one I did it on purpose was the Rams last year at halftime, because they just refused to move. If you get hit, that’s your fault. If you want a concussion, so be it,” Robbie Gould told reporters, according to KNBR AM Radio Station.
The San Francisco 49ers suffered in the NFC Championship game
Robbie Gould didn’t get the opportunity to display his skills last night. The way he did against the Seattle Seahawks in the wild-card round of this year’s playoff. Gould went 4-for-4 in a perfect FG night for the veteran.

Also, Gould maintained perfection on the additional points from the touchdowns as well and totalled 15 points on the 41-23 winning night compared to his one on Sunday.

The Niners suffered because of an unexpected quarterback setback. Mr Relevant QB Brock Purdy had to see his 7-0 win streak come to an end when an elbow injury on his throwing arm dampened his expectations for the night. However, things got even worse when fourth-string QB Josh Johnson also suffered a concussion in the third quarter.
