A controversial picture of the Dallas Cowboys owner, Jerry Jones, has appeared on the internet which resulted in a lot of criticism. The photo was shot at North Little Rock High School when there was a lot of student unrest. Dallas-born track star Sha’Carri Richardson has some important and interesting things to say about that image.

Before his team played against the New York Giants on Thanksgiving, the billionaire made rounds on news channels. A picture from 1957 showed a 14-year-old Jerry Jones at a public school. The picture was taken on September 9 and was one of the first instances when public schools integrated.
The picture showed a group of white students clamoring around six black students who tried to enter. The white students shouted racial slurs at the black students.
The sprinter took problem with people and said that if people were still supporting the team, then why were they complaining about the picture? “There’s a lot of talking about this but If Y’all still gone support then what’s the point of complaining?”
In Jerry Jones’ defense
The 80-year-old explained the history behind the problematic picture. The curiosity of it all attracted him to the crowd. He was not part of the group to harass the black student. Also, he explained he was not cognizant of the significance of the event.

“I don’t know that I or anybody anticipated or had a background of knowing … what was involved,” Jones said. “It was more a curious thing.”
When asked more about the event, he emphasized he was driven by curiosity and did not understand the gravity of the situation. Also, he said that his football coach warned him to stay away from the scene.

In an interview, reporters asked Jerry Jones why he never hired any black coaching staff. He recalled that time in his life and expressed regret. “I’ll be very candid with you, I’ve often asked: ‘Why didn’t you do more?’ ’Why didn’t you get up and have them come up on the bus and sit rather than standing back there? Why didn’t you do more?’”
