The Baltimore Ravens had a grievous difficulty that they had to tackle throughout the offseason. The Lamar Jackson extension drama was breaking news when it first came out. Ever since then, the expansions have been active. However, the new development would surely upset the Maryland flock as the franchise and QB did not settle into an agreement. The NFL Universe is not at all happy about it.

After Lamar Jackson set Friday as the deadline for the extension finalization, Baltimore was seizing their breaths. As the ultimate day passed, the franchise left a statement by Eric DeCosta on Twitter. The opening sentence could worry the Ravens Nation as both parties did not come to a settlement.
The Baltimore Ravens‘ statement mentioned, “Despite best efforts on both sides, we were unable to reach a contract extension with Lamar Jackson. We greatly appreciate how he has handled this process and we are excited about our team with Lamar leading the way. We will continue to work towards a long-term contract after the season, but for now we are looking forward to a successful 2022 campaign.”

The statement had a trace of hope as they would again enter negotiations with Lamar Jackson after the season. As things currently stand, Jackson will serve off the last year of his rookie contract. He would be a free agent if the franchise struck no long-term contract. But that only would happen if the Ravens did not place the franchise tag on the QB.
NFL Universe is not happy as Lamar Jackson stays without an extension
The statement led to the NFL universe unfurling their disappointment over the Ravens. Evidently, they want to seal Jackson for the future, and it was only possible after they cut to a deal.
A user said that if the Browns can give Deshaun Watson a bag, they should present LJ with a blank check.
If Browns can give DeShawn Watson a bag, the Ravens should give LJ a blank check. Hes a mvp and playoff qb who's actually a good guy. he doesn't come with sexual assault suspensions and metoo protest headaches.i see why hes holding out for more

A user expressed their disappointment, saying that if the Ravens lose Lamar, it will be their greatest loss.
So disappointing.. If the Ravens lose Lamar this will be one of the BIGGEST Ls they have taken and will lose a ton of fans along the way.. JUST PAY THE MAN this cheap stuff the Ravens had been living off is so annoying

A user tried to predict the future and called that Jackson is not an FA.
He’s getting franchise tagged next offseason anyways. Not like we need to worry about him walking. He’s not really an FA.

A user called out that Jackson might do what Joe Flacco did in 2012.
The last time a Ravens quarterback turned down Baltimore's offers for a contract extension and played out his rookie deal was Joe Flacco in 2012. That year, Flacco led the Ravens to a Super Bowl title and then became the highest-paid player in the NFL the following offseason.

A user said that if he was in the QB’s place, he would not have thrown a pass.
The ravens don’t want to pay their franchise QB, unbelievable. If I were Lamar I wouldn’t play a game

A user was wondering what amount did Lamar Jackson keep in place.
I’m starting to wonder what Lamar is asking for

A user claimed that Jackson would win the Lombardi and the Ravens will eventually pay him.
Win the Lombardi and end up paying him exactly what he wants 😂😂

A user sought answers on the need of putting a statement over the situation, and another user gave the response.
They put it out there because literally no one will shut the hell up about it. Every question is about the contract instead of football. He is under contract this year already. Time for people to move on.

A user sees the clever move made by Ravens and urged Jackson to get an agent.
Smart on the Ravens part. He’s clearly asking for too much. Also get him an agent. He has no idea what he’s doing
