Fans would not like to be in the shoes of San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan right now. After leading his team to the Super Bowl last season, great things were expected from ‘The Red and Gold’ this year. However, they suffered a shock upset in Week One at the hands of Kyler Murray-led Arizona Cardinals.
They followed that up with a comfortable win over New York Jets last weekend. However, Shanahan’s team suffered a host of injuries during the game. That was largely down to the poor turf conditions at the MetLife Stadium in New York. RB Raheem Mostert, DE Nick Bosa, and QB Jimmy Garoppolo all left the field at various intervals due to injury concerns.
Now, Shanahan has all but confirmed that star quarterback Jimmy G will most likely not be involved in the Week Three clash against New York Giants.

The Niners were hit with a major blow after the Jets game. MRI scans on star defensive end Nick Bosa confirmed an ACL tear. He was ruled out for the rest of the season and is expected to return only in 2021. Two days after that unfortunate news, Shanahan claimed that quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo will not start for the 49ers this weekend.
49ers’ HC Kyle Shanahan today, when asked who would be the team’s starting QB Sunday at the Giants: “Most likely Nick Mullens. I mean, I’d be surprised if Jimmy (Garoppolo) is ready.”

As per the latest update, RB Tevin Coleman (knee), DE Dee Ford (back), QB Jimmy Garoppolo (ankle), RB Raheem Mostert (knee) all did not participate in Wednesday’s training session. Meanwhile, LB Dre Greenlaw (quadriceps) and superstar TE George Kittle (knee) had limited participation in practice.

Shanahan will not want to risk his two stars, Jimmy G and George Kittle, at the detrimental MetLife Stadium turf this weekend. The 49ers play Philadelphia Eagles, Miami Dolphins, and Los Angeles Rams next month. Their fanbase will be hoping for two injury-free weeks so that they can build some momentum in October with their stars back on the field.
