Micah Parsons is having another stellar year this season after winning the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year last year. And to make it even better, the Dallas Cowboys linebacker also made his second Pro-Bowl selection along with six of his Cowboys teammates. However, tragedy struck the Parsons household recently. Micah let his grief out on Twitter.
Despite the crucial win against the Eagles last week, even Philly fans sympathized with Micah Parsons when he announced the passing away of his dog. Pet owners know how painful the entire experience is and saying goodbye to their loyal furry friends is never a straightforward task. Micah reiterated it in his emotional tweet.
And it wasn’t just a single tweet. “Putting your dog down is truly one of the hardest things to do ever,” Parson tweeted before adding another photo collage with his dog Simba. “I will always love you, sweet boy. RIP Simba,” Micah wrote. And the NFL world poured in with their condolences and sympathies.

Micah has another dog to look after despite this tragic milestone. The Penn State defensive star named his second puppy Brutus after the Ohio State mascot.
Micah Parsons still has to be the ‘dog’ himself to take the Cowboys to the promised land
Parsons has been a top dog defender in the league since the moment he arrived as the first-round 12th pick in the 2021 NFL draft. The Dallas Cowboys chose the right man to terrorize opposition quarterbacks in the league. Currently, Micah is in the race for the defensive player of the league award. However, with Nick Bosa’s 2022 form, it’s hard for Micah to snatch the award from last year’s winner, T.J. Watt.

Micah recorded 13 sacks in his rookie season and has already matched that number after Week 16 this season. His sacks are 5th best in the league this season. And his 3 forced fumbles put him in the tie for the 4th position in the NFL as per ESPN.

It’s questionable if Micah Parsons can use Sunday’s football game to distract himself from the passing of his loyal family friend. Parsons has an injured hand and only attended limited practice on Wednesday. Leighton Vander Esch is also out for Sunday due to a neck injury. And without Parsons, the Cowboys may have a hard time against the Tennessee Titans without their two first-choice linebackers. With a win, Dak Prescott and Dallas will keep their divisional title hopes alive. A Cowboys’ loss and a win for the Eagles will end that dream completely.
