With the New England Patriots signing Cam Newton in the aftermath of Tom Brady leaving, it’s time for a change in dynamics at the team. The 2020 season kickoffs in a little over two months and thus, there is a lot that needs to be done.
Julian Edelman, wide receiver for the Patriots, took to Instagram to welcome Newton to the team and said it’s now time to work. Newton’s deal with the Patriots has received wide appreciation and lots of positive responses. The quarterback was more than an asset to the Carolina Panthers and is expected to be just that way for the Patriots too.
Tom Brady’s departure to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers has left a void in New England which still remains unfilled. Who among Brian Hoyer, Jarrett Stidham, or Cam Newton will pick up the baton is something we’ll know soon. Till then, receivers will have to work with the three quarterbacks to ensure the offensive side’s performance doesn’t fall and stays like it was in the past. Tom Brady’s response to Edelman’s post on working with Newton, however, was very delightful to see. The internet is certainly having a tough time getting over it.

The G.O.A.T quarterback may now have a new address, but New England is still his first home in the NFL and his former teammates are like family to him. So, he had to respond to Edelman’s post by saying “I will always be your #1“. The bromance is still alive!

Brady and Edelman had been teammates for over a decade and have built a very close-knit friendship over the years. “Jules knows how I feel about him. I love that guy. He’s like a brother to me. We have been through so much and nobody is as big a fan of Julian than me,” Brady said during the NFL Draft-A-Thon in April this year.
“He will be great whoever he plays with. As you guys know, there’s a business side to sports. Things happen. You have to take it day-by-day like we’re all experiencing. Things change pretty quickly in the world and in our lives,” he added. And now, in just two months Edelman has a better idea about his quarterback.
Edelman shared pictures of the duo captioned “Family” when Brady’s departure was announced. He has been a fan of the quarterback for a very long time now. “I remember being in eighth grade and pretending to be Tom Brady at recess and now I am teammates and friends with Tom Brady,” he told the Augustman in 2016. “We held up the Vince Lombardi trophy together. So yea, playing for the New England Patriots has been my greatest achievement.”

So, Brady’s comment was a beautiful representation of the duo’s bond and we wouldn’t have had it any other way.
