Gisele Bündchen opened up about bullying

Gisele Bündchen once poured her heart out on struggling with bullying during her teenage years. Talking to the New York Times in 2016, she said she was bullied for her looks in school. “Even before I got into the business, I was used to being bullied because I was always tall and skinny and stuck out. I got really red all the time from playing volleyball, red like a pepper. So, I thought bullying was just the way life is,” Gisele said in the interview.

She talked about the same struggles in an interview with Charlie Rose. Her height was the main issue that prompted bullying from her schoolmates. “I was 5’11” at 14. It wasn’t fun. Like everybody made fun of me. Every time I go in the slow dance, like nobody wanted to dance with me. Seriously, I was this much taller than everyone in my class, you know,” she said, adding that it was very mean.

Her successful career

After spending a tough few years being bullied for her looks, Gisele Bündchen went on to become one of the greatest supermodels ever. By 2004, she had worked with every major designer there was. She became the highest-paid model in the world and has appeared on more than 1200 magazine covers. According to Forbes, she is worth nearly $400 million, making most of the money through modeling and brand endorsements.

Gisele married Tom Brady, one of the greatest NFL players of all time, in 2009. The couple has been married for 13 years and has two children, Benjamin and Vivian. Gisele also acts as a stepmom to Brady’s oldest son Jack, whom she has called her “bonus” child. Forbes has named Brady and Bündchen as one of the three highest-paid celebrity couples of the past decade.

Brady and Bündchen are reportedly going through a divorce, as she is not happy with Brady’s decision to continue playing in the NFL. He announced his retirement earlier this year but came back out of it in just 40 days to go back and play for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Bündchen wanted Brady to spend time with family, but his football career doesn’t allow much time. That didn’t go down well with her.

From being bullied to becoming the highest-paid supermodel in the world, Gisele Bündchen has surely come a long way.
