The 2022 Sports Emmy Awards is a highly envied honor that will happen this year in the month of May. The physical event will take place at Frederick P. Rose Hall at Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York. With multiple entities making it into the list, the NFL media also made it into the nominees. Notable analysts like Peyton and Eli Manning, Greg Olsen, and Julian Edelman have made it in this year. On Wednesday, they had made the nominees public, and Greg Olsen turns himself into a gag on social media.
They have nominated the National Football League for 39 Sports Emmy Awards, a new high for the League. They surpass the previous year’s total of 35 nominations. This includes their work on NFL Network, NFL Films, NFL.com, the NFL app, and the league office, according to the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.

Moreover, apart from the NFL, ESPN received 62 nominations, trailed by CBS Sports (33), and NBC Sports (30). Fox Sports (26), Turner Sports (24), and HBO Sports (23) also receive notable nominations this year.
Greg Olsen, Eli Manning has made the cut
After Sports Emmys on Twitter reveal the nominations, Greg Olsen, a former tight-end turned analyst, joins fellow former NFL players Eli Manning and Julian Edelman on the list of contenders for the Emerging On-Air Talent award this year; Along with ESPN’s Malika Andrews and BR’s Taylor Rooks.
After the reveal, Greg Olsen makes his initial reaction public over social media. He recalls his moment in the previous year when he and Eli Manning were chosen. However, he was the only one without the accolades.

While Greg Olsen’s football career is over, he has a shot to earn honors in his post-NFL career. He was able to transmit his ability to a bigger audience after switching careers as a commentator, leading to this remarkable candidacy.
After retiring from the NFL after the 2020 season, Olsen ventured into in-game calling for Fox in his final years as a player. In 2021, he acquired a full-time contract with FOX SPORTS to call the NFL and XFL matchups. He’s the network’s second-most-watched football expert.

TE Greg has been doing a commendable job in calling the matches alongside FOX Sports as well. While the former athlete couldn’t bag an honor last time, this year looks like a big chance for him this year.
