“I Was Terrified”: Years After Dating Jerry Rice’s Daughter, Tom Brady’s Star Patriots Teammate Comes Out With a “Scary” Experience

Tom Brady has made some of the best friends in his 22 years of football. While Brady gets a lot of credit for his brilliant wins, he wasn’t alone during them. He had some of the most reliable players on his side, and they shared some brilliant chemistry. Even to this day, he remains close friends with them. And, one of those close friends of his recently shared a dating story about himself.

Rob Gronkowski and Julian Edelman have been two of Brady’s closest teammates. Among the two, Edelman has been one of the only constant wide receivers to be Brady’s target with 11 seasons with the Patriots under his belt. Interestingly, a video of Edelman speaking about a scary experience that involved NFL legend, Jerry Rice has gone viral.

Julian Edelman vs Jerry Rice: A faceoff between WRs?

Edelman had an interesting connection to the NFL before he even got to the league. While on Gilbert Arena’s show, the WR spoke about an interesting experience he had that involved another wide receiver, the infamous Jerry Rice. Reportedly, the New England Patriots WR dated Rice’s daughter when he was in high school. He mentioned how he was absolutely terrified of the WR.

He mentioned how Rice was intimidating him and he understands that sentiment now, given that he has a daughter. However, Edelman pulled off an interesting stunt at Rice’s house.

He even admitted this on the show and said, “I was terrified. And I have a little girl now so I understand. You know, so you kind of get it a little punk little kid coming thing and he’s dating the daughter and stuff. But I’ll tell you one thing. When Jerry wasn’t there, I was putting on the Super Bowl rings and everything.” What is even more interesting is the strange twist of fate that occurred in Edelman’s life as a pro footballer.

Just like the scary father of his high school girlfriend, Edelman himself has won 3 Super Bowls. His first Super Bowl came in the year 2015, second in 2017, and third in 2019. All three times, Edelman was a necessary factor in determining the win alongside Brady. Throughout these 3 wins, the WR has a whopping 24 receives, 337 receiving yards, and 17 rushing yards. Along with these, he also had 1 crucial touchdown in the 2015 Super Bowl. He even finished his last Super Bowl in 2019 with a rare wide receiver Super Bowl MVP award.

Edelman truly came very far with his ambitions. From pretending to be a 3-time champ by putting on Rice’s Super Bowl rings, he went on to have his own 3 rings. The WR, along with his teammates, made his Super Bowl-winning dreams come true.
