July 9 has been declared as “Damar Hamlin Day” in recognition of his achievements and contributions.

Chasing M’s Foundation embodies his passion and vision, allowing him to give back to the community that shaped him. As a former University of Pittsburgh football star and current NFL player, Hamlin’s journey has been marked by overcoming adversity and using his platform to create a positive global impact.

Damar Hamlin is not only a professional football player but also a passionate advocate for CPR training. Through his Chasing M’s Foundation, he has been making a positive impact on his community by teaching people how to save lives. His latest initiative is the “CPR Tour” in Buffalo, where he is spreading awareness and skills about this vital emergency procedure. His upcoming CPR tours in cities like Buffalo and Pittsburgh will teach essential cardiopulmonary resuscitation techniques. Hamlin said, “Take a nation of bystanders and turn them into lifesavers and give them a true superpower”.
“I wake up every day and think about how I can impact the world in a positive way, that’s what I care about if you take away everything else,” On Friday, Hamlin spoke to The Associated Press. The Chasing M’s Foundation is devoted to aiding children and families in need through initiatives like toy drives, back-to-school drives, kids camps, and scholarships.
Hamlin believes in the power of education to unlock success and aims to support youths’ aspirations. Buffalo Bills Safety intends to use $10 million, raised until May, for its establishment, as per CBS News.
Football camp for aspiring children
In addition to the CPR Tour, Damar Hamlin also shares his love for football with the younger generation. He is hosting his first football camp at the historic Cupples Stadium in Pittsburgh’s Southside neighborhood on July 7, 2023. The camp is open to children ages 5-12, who will have the opportunity to learn from and interact with the professional athlete. “It was made to give the kids out of Pittsburgh and the WPIAL District and the City League a platform they don’t normally get,” he said. This gives everyone the opportunity to be seen.” The camp is designed to provide a platform for local talent that might otherwise be overlooked.
Inspired by his father Mario who did similar work in the McKee’s Rocks area where Hamlin grew up. Hamlin wants to build recreational centers and programs that offer both athletic and academic opportunities for children and youth.

“We are trying to make the biggest impact we can,” he said. “That includes connecting with other non-profits (and) seeing how we could collaborate. It’s not even just thinking about five years down the road. We’re thinking about 30 years down the road.” – Damar Hamlin, per APNews.
