Will Levis has been in the spotlight since the draft day this year. The Tennessee Titans rookie QB took the field in his team’s preseason opener against the Chicago Bears. Expectations were high but the 24-year-old fell kind of flat during the game. This prompted a veteran QB to give him some important advice that might change his NFL career trajectory.

Competition is big this year in Tennessee for the QB1 spot this year. Levis will have to fight for the spot with Ryan Tannehill and even Malik Willis. So maybe it was the right time for him to get advice to change his game before the season kicks off next month.

Former Detroit Lions QB Dan Orlovsky revealed that he contacted Will Levis after his poor performance against the Bears. The veteran gave the rookie a pointer to better execute his passing game going forward. And that is advice that every young QB should give his ears to.

“I texted him this like to throw the ball. Don’t guide the football. Throw it, throw it. That’s kind of a takeaway for the young guys,” Orlovsky said on the Pat McAfee Show.

Levis attempted 14 passes against Chicago and managed to complete 9 of them. But he could only get his team 85 yards down the field. On top of that, he ended up throwing a pick. Malik Willis also threw an interception, but he did find the endzone through a rush. Levis just couldn’t get his team on the board.

Will Levis came into the 2023 draft with the hopes of being a top-10 pick. But that did not come to pass. When he finally got the call from the Titans in the second round, Levis couldn’t control his tears.

The former Penn State and Kentucky QB has a lot to prove this season in the NFL. Since he slid down to the second round after being projected as the first-round pick, he would have a chip on his shoulder to prove his worth. Although if he wants to do that, he will have to better his 64.9% college completion rate.
