The league releases the previous week’s officiating film to coaches and general managers. The email goes unmentioned in most cases. However, Mike Vrabel took advantage of the chance to respond to everybody on the email thread and express his dissatisfaction with uneven judgment from the game officials.
Mike Vrabel had it all
As per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Mike Vrabel wrote, “I appreciate the time and energy that goes into these videos,” Vrabel reportedly wrote, “but I suggest we devote every minute of our officiating departments’ time ensuring our officiating crews are as well trained in the clarifications we worked to create in the off season and that each crew is as consistent as possible. Thank you.”

Vrabel’s response to the bad officiating was respectful in tone but dripping with passive aggression. The NFL Insider added that the Titans HC ‘intentionally’ responded to the memos to relay a message and underline that the NFL has to fix its officiating problems.
The NFL’s poor officiating led to an outburst among the fans and pundits. It is coming after Falcons’ Grady Jarrett and Chiefs’ Chris Jones faced penalties during the Week 5 games.
Los Angeles Rams to propose changes upon QB roughing rule
After controversial flags plagued some Week 5 games, the LA Rams are decking up to pursue the formal route upon it. As per reports, the Rams intend to re-propose the rule change request that would make all personal fouls reviewable. They will take it to the NFL’s competition committee. The personal fouls also involve the contentious roughing the passer flags faced by Grady Jarrett and Chris Jones.

Last year, the Rams filed a similar concept, but the competition committee decisively rejected it. The reports added they expect the committee to examine roughing the passer penalties after the season. It will also be available for discussion at the league’s owners’ meeting in New York.
