The NFL free agency in 2023 is going to be a power-packed lot filled with talents like Tom Brady, Lamar Jackson, and many more. Recently the Raiders passer Derek Carr has also joined the elite list after a possible fallout with the franchise. On his departure, the veteran penned a heartfelt message for his fan base and thanked everyone for their support throughout this journey.
This season, Raiders went down as one of the poorly performing teams despite strengthening their offensive unit with lethal weapons like Davante Adams on the roster. However, they couldn’t do any better and recorded six wins against 11 losses this campaign. The quarterback Derek Carr was constantly targeted for underperforming and eventually got benched for the last two games of the regular season.

Backup prospect Jarrett Stidham took charge at the center to add another two losses in consecutive weeks. Primarily, benching Carr was viewed as the next step of the management to part ways with the veteran. And now it seems the theory is absolutely true because he shared a goodbye note for the fans recently.
“Raider Nation, it breaks my heart that I didn’t get an opportunity to say goodbye in person. We certainly have been on a roller coaster in our 9 years together. From the bottom of my heart, I am so grateful and appreciative of the years of support you gave to my family and me,” he said in the post shared via Twitter.
“Raider Nation truly is special. once said that if I’m not a Raider I would rather be at home, and I meant that, but I never envisioned it ending this way. That fire burning inside of me to win a championship still rages. A fire no man can extinguish; only God,” he added.

While one could think that Carr will seek retirement, the veteran has no intentions of doing so. In fact, he vowed to bounce back to another city wearing a different jersey and a sole motto of winning the coveted Super Bowl title.
The NFL world showers love upon Derek Carr and wish him luck
One bad season never justifies a player. And thus, he is expected to secure a lucrative contract in the upcoming offseason. It is yet to be seen whether his no-trade clause gets waived or not. Anyways, this post took no time to spread like a wildfire.
I'll be rooting for you wherever you play, and I'll consider the ring you get at least partially for those of us in Raider Nation.
