Getting called out by an NFL veteran is not the nicest thing to experience, especially being one of the best receivers in the league. So, statistics aside, what better way to prove a veteran wrong than by actions?

What was demanded of Tyreek Hill?

When asked about whether Tyreek Hill was the best, analyst and former wide receiver Steve Smith Sr. did not provide an answer that pleased Hill.

This beef between Smith Sr. and Hill started when the former said that Hill is not a pure hands catcher.

Hill took up the challenge and posted a video on Instagram to prove Smith wrong. Hill used maple syrup in the first round and butter in the next, slathering them on his hands while attempting to catch a ball.

Hill was able to catch both balls with the ease of someone who is brilliant at what they do. Hill’s clap back was impressive. But Smith was not satisfied by what Hill showcased and upped his demands. The challenge Smith issued sounded more appetizing (in a literal sense) than it should. Smith listed out a bunch of food items that Hill was supposed to use this time around.

Smith Sr. stated that Hill must catch a football from a jug machine that’s going 22 miles per hour. His hands are to be slathered in gravy and crumbled biscuits or duck fat amongst others.

Hill needs to get to be able to get the machine to 25 miles per hour and catch the ball with fresh bacon grease spread on his hands.

Hill surprisingly took up the challenge and stated that he loved it.

Fans on Twitter react to the challenge

While some fans were entertained by the banter, others thought the whole challenge was unnecessary.

This fan was concerned for Hill’s well-being.

One fan thinks Smith is jealous of Hill.

Smith’s list of demands needs to be fulfilled for Hill to be acknowledged as the best hands n the league. Some fans think that Smith is pushing it too far with the hot bacon grease that could potentially hamper Hill’s performance. At the same time, they’ll look forward to Hill taking up the challenge without potentially injuring himself. Do you think Tyreek Hill will complete the challenge?
