Tom Brady had an unprecedented career on the gridiron. And many people had a great deal of influence on those stellar 23 years. But none came close to the relationship he shared with the New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick. Brady couldn’t hold back his tears in Belichick’s presence while recalling initial days in New England.

The legendary QB retired from professional football last week. As his personal side becomes public like never before, fans get a little closer to the legend they admired all throughout the journey.

Tom Brady hosted a ‘Let’s Go’ special episode days after he said goodbye to the football field. The episode featured the likes of his fiercest rival Peyton Manning, and young upcoming great Patrick Mahomes. But it also features the one person who had the biggest influence on Brady’s career, Bill Belichick. And Brady couldn’t hold back his tears as he remembered his initial days on the east coast.

“I always joke I had no f*cking idea where New England was when I got drafted. I flew into Providence; it really confuses you when you are coming from the West coast.

It was coach Belichick’s first year there, we came in together,” the QB said on the podcast

The NFL GOAT gave all the credit of his development to Belichick. According to the QB, Belichick saw something in him when nobody else did.

“And I always think for so many young players, who’s gonna be there? Anybody can get drafted to a place, who’s gonna turn you into something? Who’s gonna develop you, take you under your wings? I had someone who saw something in me that not a lot of other people did,” Brady added.

The Patriots enjoyed all the success in the Brady-Belichick era. As one of the pillars of that era says goodbye to professional football, here is a lookback at the golden times of the Patriots dynasty.

The Brady-Belichick dynasty 

The Patriots picked up Tom Brady in the sixth round of the 2000 NFL draft. And the same year, they hired Bill Belichick to take the franchise to glory. It was a match made in heaven.

For the next two decades, the Patriots ruled the NFL, winning a record equaling six Super Bowl titles. They also became a regular feature in the postseason of the league. Brady never had a losing season ever in Foxborough. The QB left the organization after the 2019 season, and they are struggling ever since. But they have the only person who can get them where they were in Belichick.
