While speaking on a podcast, the free agent QB spoke about how much money he had to spend as a rookie because of the veterans on the team. He mentioned the kind of high bill he had to pay when he had to host a rookie dinner. The rookie dinner is a tradition involving the rookie buying the veterans a lavish dinner.
In the YouTube video, he spoke about the hefty $17,000 bill he had to pay. Furthermore, he had some interesting words for the kind of damage his wallet took. However, he mentioned how he got away with a lower bill than he would have had to pay. He said, “Then I started hearing other stories and I was like man fifty thousand sixty thousand, and this that in the third I’m like oh I got away with murder.”
However, his $17,000 bill seems like a small price to pay, considering his record with the Panthers. Newton had some amazing stats in Caroline before he become a free agent.
