After yet another defeat in the season that has been forgettable at best, Russell Wilson got really emotional. He talked about his teammates coming out to defend him amid severe criticism that he has received since coming to Denver.
“It meant the world to me. It meant the world to me because I give my all every day. I don’t know anything less and…so I am grateful to these guys. For them to have my back, it means the world to me,” Wilson said with tears in his eyes.
The Broncos QB also said that he is not going to stop and will help the team to reach new heights. He said that he knows how much the game means to him.
“All I want to do is help this team to win and let’s find a way to do it. I know we’re gonna overcome those obstacles, I’m not gonna blink. Because I know who I am and the dedication I have for the game,” Wilson added.
Many Broncos players came out to publicly defend Wilson after the SoFi debacle and the firing of head coach Nathaniel Hackett. And after all that, seeing the 2013 Super Bowl champion in tears broke the fans’ hearts.
