2019 MVP winner, Lamar Jackson, is currently in a tricky situation after the Ravens put a non-exclusive franchise tag on the quarterback. Since then, he did not garner a lot of attention, as many franchises pulled out of the race to sign the young QB. It was really surprising because Jackson has a great ability to become a great running back as well, alongside being a great QB. In the latest interview, Jackson provided details about his games running the West Coast offense as well when he entered the league in 2018.
Notably, legendary Bengals coach Bill Walsh invented the West Coast offense system. Now, many teams use it in the NFL. When Jackson played as a rookie for the Ravens, he could be seen running the offense under the coaching of offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg. In a recent interview with the TruzzProductionz, the 26-year-old QB got candid about running the offense straight out of college.

While talking to the TruzzProductionz, Jackson said, “Coming out of college entering the system was terminology. I feel like the passing concepts… It was just me calling from signals you know…“

Then, he talked about the difference between high school football and college football. “It’s not necessarily just communicating, I used to caught up in a huddle; in high school no-huddle, you know, just signals…I gotta tell a bunch of grown men please you know to play the protection you know, probably a proper out you know… It was really the terminology with West Coast system. It wasn’t concepts or anything… it was just me calling out plays to the guys,“ Jackson further said.
Notably, Jackson won the MVP in just his second year in the NFL. The 2x Pro Bowler did not have a great season last year, as he was suffering from injuries. Despite that, he recorded great numbers in just 12 games; he had 17 TDs for 1242 yards and as a rusher, he also recorded 3 TDs for 764 yards.

On the other hand, Jackson is not focusing on all the rumors that have been circulating on the internet recently. He even called out NFL insider Adam Schefter regarding his contract situation with the Ravens. Speaking about the Ravens, they can match any offer Jackson receives from other teams. Certainly, it is an interesting scenario with the QB, as there’s a good chance he could be staying with Ravens next season as well.
