TJ Watt was crowned as the Defensive Player of the Year last season. In a season, in which the Steelers lacked quality, he was the man who showed out every night. He is 27 years old and has a lot of football ahead of him.

TJ will be heading into the 6th season of his career, and he will be the leader of the Steelers, as their long-time QB Ben Roethlisberger had retired last season. Recently in an interview, TJ was asked about his preparations for the next season.

A reporter asked him has he sensed that it has already been six years since he was drafted. TJ replied, “No, this is flying by absolutely it’s it’s insane how quickly it’s gone by, and I still feel great I feel like my best football is ahead of me so I’m very excited for this season.”

TJ Watt will be ready for the next season, as a new era awaits in Pittsburgh. Kenny Pickett was recently drafted by the franchise, and there is a sense around the league, that he will be the franchise QB for them.

TJ Watt discussed how he and the Steelers can improve next season

As stated above, this will be a new start for the Steelers. The post-Big-Ben era finally begins in Pittsburgh. However, it still isn’t clear about who will be the starting quarterback for them next season.

They had drafted Kenny Pickett and had also signed Mitchell Trubisky during the offseason. They have some worries on the offensive end, but on the defensive end, their task is sorted with TJ Watt.

He was asked about how he and his team can improve next season. TJ said, “It’s continuing to work, I mean there’s so many areas where I feel like I can improve just in the weight room in the all offseason when I’m here just finding little details to continue to work on and uh I’m just I’m not satisfied I really am not and I feel like this group is can be really successful and when we’re all clicking. I think that is what this time of year is all about.”

TJ certainly would want to add another DPOY award to his resume. He is a ferocious player, and now he will cherish the opportunity of being the leader of this franchise.
