Everybody knows Gisele Bündchen as a high-end editorial model. She ruled the fashion runways and magazines back in the 2000s. Later, she dipped her toes in the world of acting. And everybody agreed that the fifty-six seconds she spent in the super hit movie, The Devil Wears Prada, showed how interesting her acting skills were. However, originally, the supermodel would have refused the role because of her reservations.

The cult-classic movie, The Devil Wears Prada, came out in 2006. It featured popular celebrities like Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, Stanley Tucci, etc. The writer of the film, Aline Brosh McKenna, approached the supermodel. They coincidently boarded the same flight to Los Angeles.
How did Gisele Bündchen agree to become a part of the movie?
McKenna remembered seeing Bündchen on the same flight as hers. The writer said, “[I] climbed across the person sitting next to me, went over to Gisele, and I just—in order to not seem like a lunatic, I just kept saying, ‘Meryl Streep, Meryl Streep, movie, Meryl Streep.‘”
Although it was an enticing opportunity, the former Victoria’s Secret angel did not want to be a part of the movie. Her reason was that she was not an actress.

While talking about how she later accepted the role, she revealed the condition she wanted the writer to know. “And I say, ‘Look, if I’ll be in it’—she was asking me to be in it—and I was like, ‘I don’t want to play a model. I don’t want to be myself.’ And then she said, ‘What would you want to be?’ I said, ‘I don’t know, can I be like an assistant something? Can I do the other side of things that I’—and she was like, ‘Yeah, sure.'” Fans can’t be more thankful. Because they got to see the fun character of Serena. Her iconic line: “We were in the Beauty Department and she held up this Shu Uemura eyelash curler and said, ‘What is this?'” will forever remain ingrained in the minds of fashionable ladies.
Bündchen’s daughter loved her cameo!
Although Gisele’s fans saw her do a great job in the movie, new fans adore her cameo all the same. In fact, her little fan, Vivian Lake Brady, her 9-year-daughter, enjoyed her mom’s acting skills.

“It’s funny because my daughter… was [at] some friend’s house. She’s like, ‘Mom I saw you in a movie. You were wearing glasses. Was that you?’… It was cute to have my daughter recognising me for the two seconds I was on screen,” she said while talking to Vogue’s Life In Looks series.
