Following his exit from the playoffs in the NFC championship game against the Los Angeles Rams. Tom Brady announced his retirement from the sport in April 2022. While many could not believe that they’d seen the last of the player. Brady proved his doubters right when he cut his retirement short and came back to the sport only 40 days after his initial stepping down. The NFL star has now become quite a story in the past year over how he handled his retirement. Even Hollywood actors have taken note of the cautionary tale of Brady.

Ever since Brady’s return to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, things have not been as smooth for the player. Maybe one can call it his indecision or love for the sport, but the player will surely stand to give a lesson on retirement to many others. The list already includes the name of a wildly popular American sitcom and movie star, who admittedly does not want to pull a Brady.

The ‘Home Improvement’ fame comedian, Tim Allen, who has been part of massive projects like the Toy Story and the Santa Claus series, has come back with a new mini-series on DisneyPlus, called the Santa Clauses. The story revolves around Santa, who took retirement to spend time with his family. But following the disastrous impact that the new Santa is having on Christmas, he has to step back in the role to save the day. When asked if he could relate to the story, the star replied, “I don’t want to be a [Tom] Brady about it.”

“I retired from Home Improvement under a lot of stress because they had offered me quite an offer to come back,” Allen continued. “Gretzky was retiring, the hockey player.… A couple quarterbacks were retiring that year. I was just watching sports. I love sports and they all left at the top of their game and that was an interesting thing.” According to the Buzz Lightyear voice actor, he would not know what to do if not acting. “I love what I do. I don’t know what I’d do if I didn’t do this.”

After quitting Home Improvement, the show makers offered huge money to the star. But Allen rejected the offer and refused to come on, as he wanted to spend more time with his family and did not want to work without his co-star Patricia Richardson.
