The NFL announced the All-Pro Team 2021 team on Wednesday. Two San Francisco 49ers made it to the team. But the head coach Kyle Shanahan is still confused with the list. According to Shanahan, there is one more San Francisco player that deserves to be on the team. Nick Bosa is a defensive player of the year for the 49ers for sure. And the HC is disappointed with the fact that the defensive end does not get the recognition he deserves.

Nick Bosa not even being in the talks of the defensive players of the year and being snubbed out of the Pro Bowl did not sit well with Shanahan.

Nick Bosa in the NFL

The second overall 49ers draft pick of 2019 had an amazing season. In his first year with the team, Bosa was named the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year. He completed nine sacks and helped San Francisco reach the Super Bowl.

During Week 2 of the 2020 season, Nick Bosa tore his ACL. This injury occurred during the game against the New York Jets. The 49ers placed him on the IR list, and Bosa missed the rest of the 2020 season.

Nick Bosa returned to the field in Week 1 of the 2021 season with determination in his eyes. Bosa had a monstrous season. He completed 15.5 sacks. These are the fourth most sacks in the NFL. Nick is one of the best defenders in the NFL today.

Bosa missing the first team can be responsible because he has fewer sacks than the selected players. But many would say that he did deserve a spot on the second team. Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby has been selected, Nick Bosa has almost double the number of sacks. Crosby has eight whereas Bosa has 15.5.

The San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan did an interview on Friday. During the interview, he touched upon the fact that Nick Bosa was not being appreciated enough.

Shanahan said, “I definitely think Bosa should be there,” the HC adds, “There’s no doubt about that, I don’t think people appreciate how good Bosa is play-in and play-out. I’ve heard people talk about him for Comeback Player of the Year and every time they say that, I can’t believe he hasn’t been mentioned in Defensive Player of the Year. So that was a surprise to me.”

It is true that Nick Bosa puts his heart into each and every play. He should have at least been in the talks of the Defensive Player of the Year. Bosa has the skills to back up Shanahan’s comments.
