The Baltimore Ravens missed the playoff last season as they lost Lamar Jackson for an extended period last year. While the team has squeezed in the postseason this time around, they will once again be without their first choice QB. He 26-year-old left the field on 4th December against the Denver Broncos. The QB has since been out of action, even missing the practice sessions. The optimism for a return in time for the wild card round was quickly squashed. But a teammate has pressed Jackson to look beyond the issues surrounding him.

While QB is on an expiring deal with the team, it is understandable for a player to assure that he stays healthy for the coming season with so much at stake. On the other hand, it is also probable for his teammates to expect him soldier on in the postseason.
Ravens’ WR questions Lamar Jackson
Newly acquired wide receiver Sammy Watkins has expressed his desire to see Jackson play the snaps for the team on Sunday. “In this league, everybody is pretty much banged up, hurt,” added Watkins. “I don’t want to speak for him and his situation and whatever he’s going through with the contracts. I don’t know what world he’s in. But for me, you got a chance to do something special.”
The WR further showed his belief in the abilities that the former MVP holds. “We all know with Lamar Jackson out there, this team is really freaking good, and special things can happen. He can will this team to a Super Bowl.”

According to Watkins, Jackson might not be seeing the whole picture yet. “I don’t think he’s thinking about it that way.” He later did acknowledge the risks involved in including the QB in the match and how selfish his wish might sound to others. “But you never know. That could be wrong. I’m being very selfish right now, just to want him to be out on the field. But, man, what a great thing it would be to see [No.] 8 touch the field this Sunday.”
Jackson recently talked about his injury to the fans. He clarified that he suffered a PCL Grade 2 sprain, which could sideline the star for some time. He will soon be approaching an important year as he seeks for a new deal. The question remains, how much does the player or the franchise want to risk for an outside chance for a Super Bowl run?
