Russell Wilson faced the daunting task of stepping into big shoes upon joining the Broncos. Following Peyton Manning‘s retirement, the team struggled to uphold his illustrious reputation and experienced repeated disappointments despite trying out multiple quarterbacks. Season after season, it was nearly agonizing to witness the team’s continual struggles and their liability to find success. In an effort to turn things around, the team placed their trust in Russell, investing a whopping quarter of a billion dollars over a 5-year period. And now, Manning seems to have an opinion on the team’s internal matter.
Unfortunately, despite the high hopes, those plans did not yield the desired results. Last season proved to be the most disastrous of them all, marked by Russell’s worst performance to date. As a result, the team is stepping up their game and decided to make changes in the management, which even gained Manning’s attention.

The Broncos recently fired their head coach, Nathaniel Hackett, after a short and tumultuous tenure. Hackett struggled to control the team and made a questionable decision regarding the offense roster selection. His firing from the team stands as one of the fastest in NFL history. He was let go last season after leading the team in only 15 matches, with only 2 games left in the season. To fill the void, the Broncos then turned to Sean Payton, a highly respected and accomplished coach.
Months after assuming responsibility for the team, Manning recently disclosed his involvement in Sean Payton’s arrival as the team’s HC. He addressed the media after last week’s Manning passing academy, where various questions relating to his former team came up. The 2x Super Bowl champ endorsed the new HC by saying, “I was certainly all in on Sean.”
